Movie Review - Boss
Cast - Akshay Kumar Mithun Chakroborty, Aditi Rao Hydari, shiv Pandit
Director - Anthony D'Souza
Rating - ★★★★
Akshay Kumar has come out with a sure success formula this Eid with his release 'Boss' it is an all out entertainer. Completely an Akshay Kumar Film, he has waltzed back with this masala entertainer that has a plethora of action comedy and foot tapping music.Well this is one of those movies where there is no female lead opposite the hero but no one misses it.
Bollywood has been bombarded with the south remakes and it has hit Jackpot every time for the audience truly loves a daring hero, family bonds, corrupt cop that leads to a fight between Good and Evil with a sprinkling of comedy and Lots of Filmy dialogue baazi.
The story outline is quite simple Satyakant [Mithun Chakraborty] unknowingly kills a teenager and his eldest son, Boss [Akshay Kumar], takes the blame on himself. He's sentenced to jail. When he serves his term and is released, Boss moves to another city. Meanwhile, Satyakant's younger son, Shiv [Shiv Pandit], bashes up the Home Minister's son Vishal [Aakash Dabhade], who's harassing Ankita [Aditi Rao Hydari], the sister of a top cop [Ronit Roy]. Therein lies the whole story.
Mithun Chakraborty as Akshay's disapproving father is over the top in emotions. Shiv Pandit as the younger brother displays a sincerity thet belies that it is his debut performance. Aditi Rao Hydari is just there to add glamour quotient. And Sonakshi Sinha Akki's lucky charm has become a pro within ashort span of her career. But the best is Ronit Roy who plays the role of khaki clad villian Ayushman Thakur well looks like a worthy opponent to Akki's larger than life heroism.
There is no boring moment in the movie even when the hero is thrashing the goons, a fun element is added of cheer leaders cheering with every action of the hero.
Akshay Kumar is back with a bang, it is a pleasure to watch him carrying out action embedded with comedy. He is the mainstay of the movie with a worthy nemesis in Ronit Roy as his adversary. It remains consistent to the end providing goods at regular intervals. This one does that too: It offers entertainment by the bucketful and celebrates the formula with panache. This one's for those who feast on unadulterated, pure desi entertainers with glee.
So go out and enjoy Eid with Akki's masala entertainer.
